Find the Perfect Chandeliers

The Art of the Chandelier: A Centerpiece for Every Room A chandelier is more than just a light fixture; it is a statement of style and a focal point that anchors a room’s design. Historically reserved for grand foyers and formal dining rooms, modern chandeliers have evolved to suit every space, from "mini chandeliers" in master bathrooms to sprawling linear designs over contemporary dining tables. Unlike pendants, chandeliers typically feature multiple arms or light sources, providing a rich layer of ambient light that can set the tone for your entire home.

Selecting the Right Chandelier Scale Choosing the correct size is the most critical step in chandelier shopping. A fixture that is too small will look "lost" in the space, while one that is too large can overwhelm the room.

  • For Dining Rooms: Your chandelier should be roughly 1/2 to 2/3 the width of your dining table.
  • For Open Rooms: A quick designer trick is to add the room's length and width in feet (e.g., 12' + 14' = 26). That sum in inches (26") is a great starting point for the fixture's diameter.
