The frame of the Merle Walnut Armchair is made of beechwood in a weathered walnut finish. The bamboo-inspired chair has loose box cushions covered in a Finn Safari upholstery fabric that can be flipped, which is recommended from time to time. Design details of note are the fully upholstered seat deck and latch clips on the top that hold the back cushion in place. By wrapping the arms and back in upholstery, the chair is very comfortable for the human form. Barry Goralnick says of this design, "Faux bamboo has been popular for centuries, from Louis XVI to Billy Baldwin, the element has been found in many lavish designs."
